Endorse O22 2026: Stand with impacted families and people under the gun of police brutality

We are Families Demanding Justice (FDJ), a national network of families and loved ones of victims of police brutality, coming together to get justice for all stolen lives and to end the epidemic of police brutality in this country. We seek to organize impacted families, friends, and people under the gun of the police, bring them forward as a force to rebuild the movement against police brutality.

As a way to build up this movement, for the last two years, FDJ has taken up organizing around the National Day of Protest Against Police Brutality on October 22nd (or O22 for short). Last year, we organized twenty-two O22 protests around the country (including one inside the Cook County Jail in Chicago), where hundreds of people joined with families across the country, in the streets, and marching on government buildings to demand justice for all stolen lives. Our vision for O22 is that one day, it becomes a time every year where millions of people will take the streets, in every state and every city, demanding justice and an end to police brutality.

This year, we are asking public figures to endorse our 2026 call for O22. An endorsement would be simply attaching your name to the bottom of the letter below, which we will make public by the end of August. Having your name on the call for O22 will help immensely in our effort to reach more people and get them organized for O22, where ever they live. If you would like to support this initiative further, please let us know and we would love to work with you. You can make a post or video about O22 for your audience, invite an FDJ member on your platform to talk about police brutality, or help organize an O22 protest in your location. There are many ways to get involved and support.

Stand with impacted families and people under the gun of police brutality, fighting to put an end to it, once and for all!
