On June 14th, 2026, a 1-year-old baby was shot and killed by police in Senatobia, Mississippi. Kohen Wiley was in a car with his mom and aunt leaving a Walmart parking lot when the racist pig, Hunter Foster, indiscriminately opened fire into the vehicle, wounding Kohen’s aunt and killing baby Kohen.
The police were responding to the “crime” of shoplifting diapers. Rather than providing care for baby Kohen, like ensuring he had diapers, this system would rather gun down a Black family, kill a child in the process, and go on to protect the pig who pulled the trigger. Hunter Foster remains on the police force in Senatobia, on paid administrative leave, and free, while the Wiley family has had to do the unimaginable and bury their 1-year-old baby.
Since 2020, over 8,000 people have been killed by law enforcement. In 2025 alone, police killed at least 1,317 people across the US and are on pace to surpass that number in 2026. Kohen’s murder should enrage everyone in this country with a conscience The murder of thousands more should have this country on fire.
As 2025 drew to a close, a racist ICE officer Brain Palacios murdered Keith Porter, a 43-year old father of two. In 2026 Minneapolis was flooded by masked immigration agents carrying out a modern-day ethnic cleansing campaign of kidnapping and terrorism. Those masked thugs gunned down two protesters, Renée Good and Alex Pretti. Even while the Trump government made cosmetic changes to it’s kidnapping program, ICE and CBP officers continue to kill without consequence – at least 10 lives have been stolen by immigration officials in 2026.
On July 22nd, in Wisconsin, Madison pig Kiel Baitinger-Peterson brutally executed Corey Ruiz. Ruiz was pulled off his bicycle, tased, and then shot in the head 3 times while he lied on the ground incapacitated. The pigs made sure to handcuff his lifeless body before going through the motions of pretending to render medical aid. Baitinger-Peterson was caught on camera re-holstering his gun and saying “Just another day on job.”
The epidemic of police murder in the US must end! No more stolen lives! On October 22nd, family members and loved ones of people killed and brutalized by the police, and people all over the country who hate watching people gunned down and brutalized will take the streets to demand: Stop police brutality! Send killer cops to jail!
Police brutality in the US is baked into every level of government and this system. Justice Department investigations, more useless legislation, police review boards, sensitivity trainings, and other reforms cannot end police brutality because it’s a fundamental tool, along with mass incarceration, to keep Black and other oppressed people down, controlled and subjugated in this society.
The police respond to people in a mental health crisis with taser guns and bullets. They prey on Black, Latino, Indigenous, and proletarian youth, stalking them in squad cars, brutalizing them and throwing them into the prison pipeline, or just shoot them dead. In response to rising homelessness, homeless people are being criminalized, with police carrying out brutal raids on encampments.
Despite the tough talk from liberal politicians and big city mayors, killer ICE and CPB agents continue to roam free. ICE routinely tortures detainees behind the closed doors of detention facilities, with 2026 on track to become the most deadly year for ICE detainees. Across the country, local police departments have assisted in the ICE kidnappings of thousands of people, brutally beating, shooting, and arresting protesters in the process.
Since 1996, October 22nd has been a day of protest and resistance against police brutality and murder. Families Demanding Justice is working to rebuild the movement against police brutality on a solid foundation, with the family members of people killed by the police and the forefront, alongside rebellious youth, artists and musicians, religious leaders, educators, and everyone who willing to take a stand against this epidemic. We are uniting all who can be united in this struggle, and leaving behind the conniving politicians, grifter lawyers, and opportunist political organizations.
We are building O22 into a day when rebellious youth across the country take the streets against police brutality, standing with families and loved ones of the victims of police murder who are brought forward to share their stories, and where people from all walks of life are brought together to confront the police and government officials. We will march on their buildings, demanding justice for all stolen lives and an end to police brutality, and disrupt business as usual.
Last year, we helped organize twenty-two O22 protests around the country, including the first O22 behind the walls of Cook County Jail in Chicago. This year, we are calling on prisoners around the country to join us in taking a stand against police brutality and the system that keeps all of us down. From the streets to the cell blocks, it’s time to flip the script.
We will unite families and loved ones of victims of police murder from around the country to join in and take a leading role in the O22 National Day of Protest Against Police Brutality. We will be going out this summer and fall to neighborhoods under the gun of police brutality, to the churches and mosques, to the classrooms and skate parks, to mobilize all those who have the courage to stand up and speak for themselves and their communities against police terror.
